Zurkovo Beach (5 minutes) has several cafés and restaurants as well as a lively marina. The charming port of Bakar (15 minutes) is one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic.

There are festivals throughout the year, the best known being Margareta’s Summer which runs for 40 days from late June to early August.

The town comes alive with cultural events and performances. Rijeka (15 minutes) is Croatia’s main port and makes a fascinating day trip or evening out. For self-catering, Rjeka’s market (Monday to Saturday mornings) is worth a trip.
