This house is situated in the small village of Baltini, only 12 kilometres from the larger town of Ilukstes Novads, in the south-east of Latvia. It is located in the nature park "Dvietes paliene", which was created in 2004 in an area of almost 5000 hectares.
The house is located on a plot of two hectares. There are several trees and a pond (fishing is free of charge) on the site. Steam sauna is located in an adjacent building (not included in the price).
The house was restored in such a way that its typical character was preserved. It consists of two floors, each with an area of almost 100m², and can accommodate up to four people. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with gas cooker, coffee machine, fridge and mini oven. Next to it is the living and dining area, furnished in 19th century style, with a fireplace and period furniture. In addition, the house has a large room with a rustic kitchen (fireplace with wood burning cooker), which can also be used to heat the house. You can also enjoy a cosy dinner in the glazed dining room. Finally, there is the bathroom, with a successful combination of rustic and modern elements.
The upper floor is accessed via a carved wooden staircase. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed (2.00m x 2.00m). Of course, they are also decorated in a rustic/modern style. There is a small sitting room between the two. The house can be heated by a fireplace or electric heaters.
In the surrounding area there are numerous lakes and the river Daugava can be easily reached on foot. In the surrounding forests you can go hiking, mushroom picking, fishing or even take photographs. The city of Daugavpils is 30 kilometres away and is the second largest city in Lithuania.
The house has no telephone, television or any other modern means of communication. Guests should be able to really disconnect and live in harmony with nature.
